Commemoratives

Commemorative coins are produced to commemorate special events. The first commemorative coin was introduced in 1892 to commemorate the World's Columbian Exposition. Several early commemoratives were produced during the 1920's and 1930's. Modern commemoratives refer to commemoratives coins produced in and after the 1980's.
