Lincoln Memorial![]() A continuation of the Lincoln Wheat series, the Lincoln Memorial Cent was introduced in 1959. The coin is still in production today, although a number of arguments have been raised to abolish the cent altogether. In 1982, the cent underwent a content change due to the rising cost of copper. Except for a thin copper coating, the coin is now predominantly zinc.
