Washington

In 1932, the Washington Quarter was introduced. Initially intended as a circulating commemorative, the Washington Quarter became a regular-issue coin in 1934. With the exception of the removal of silver in 1965, the Washington Quarter has largely been unchanged since its introduction. In 1999, production of the Washington Quarter was suspended to enable the launch of the new Statehood Quarter program.
